Server Rebuild Test Phase Begins Today

We’re excited to announce that the Server Rebuild Test Phase begins Friday, May 23rd, 2025 at 12:00PM (PT), and will run through Monday, May 26th, 2025. This is a crucial opportunity to help us test a wide range of core improvements. Depending on how things go, we may extend the testing window.

🎯 Purpose of the Test

This testing phase is focused on identifying and resolving bugs, stability issues, and gameplay inconsistencies. Your characters and items have been carried over as of Monday, May 20th. Additionally, every account on this server will temporarily receive 1 million xCredits to freely test Plus Shop features.

The test server is entirely separate from the live server, as you will see an entirely new server show up in your list. Any progress made during this phase will be wiped at the end of testing.
 


🐞 Bug Reporting

If you notice anything off—or outright broken—please report it via the #rebuild-bug-reports channel on the Legend of Ares Discord. Even if you suspect we might already know about it, report it anyway! Every report helps.
 


🔧 Changes in This Test Build

  • Guild cap is set to 30 at all times

  • Removing guild bank access doesn't change the players rank

  • Dragging a stackable item on to another of the same type will combine stacks

  • Multiple players can interact with the guild storage at the same time

  • Max daric per container has been increased to 4 billion.

  • Max segel per container has been increased to 4 billion.

  • Character select shows correct stat values

  • Nanaels buff used to incorrectly add 2 AC to your weapon without showing it. This has been fixed.

  • Treeve Elders in UWC (mages) can now teleport other monsters with them besides just Treeve Rangers.

  • AI might behave slightly different. Timing between actions was handled differently. New way is much more stable/performant, but calculations are vastly different. Probably needs "tuning".

  • Destroying an item via plussing on the old server and then destroying another without reviving the first would wipe the first item. It no longer does that, but you still have to restore them in reverse order. IE - the 2nd item has to be restored before you can restore the first.

  • Parties might be a little different as we prepare for logging out to not affect party membership.

    • When a player does damage to a monster while in a party, we credit the party for the damage - not the player. So rights will be based on how much damage was dealt to the monster by this party - not individual players added up.

    • If you do damage before joining a party - you'll receive the exp from that damage but your party will not.

  • Mages were not correctly calculating accuracy from concentration when the concentration came from level up rewards. This has been corrected and is accurate now. (Note the difference is fairly minimal)

  • If your character gets stuck in the game, simply logging in again will disconnect it.

  • Luck used to only affect items dropped from the "commons" table. Now it affects all drops. (Luck amount is determined the same way as before - last hit).

  • Extra item drop chance buffs used to only affect items dropped from the "commons" table. Now it affects all drops. If an item has 1% chance of dropping, and you have a 30% buff. The item effectively now has a 1.3% chance of dropping.

  • Monsters will no longer attempt to "return home" if it's too far from it's spawn range. It'll go back to roaming/aggro/etc from it's current position.

    • If the monster remains outside of it's spawn range for too long and it hasn't engaged in combat recently - it'll be automatically reset. (No death, no drops, just full hp+damage reset + teleported back to spawn location)

  • Special scrolls (all types) now have a 72hr expiration from the time it was first activated. It also ticks down while you are offline.

  • Mapmakers now allow you to teleport regardless of how you open the mapmakers window. As long as you have scrolls, it'll allow it. Press F6 or right click the scroll - whatever your heart desires!

  • Vendors now respect the chat blocked words.

  • Opening a vendor while muted will now remove the text from the vendor title.

  • Mage barrier works exactly as its description says. It will trigger on all attack types and reflect the damage it says.

  • Mage poison shield now also does not have a distance requirement. It works exactly how its description says it does.

  • Only completed missions will now reset at the end of an interval. If you don't complete your mission in time, your progress will now roll over!

  • Mailboxes - If the game fails to give you your item for some error reason, it'll now go to your mailbox instead. Type /mail to check your mail.

    • Events will also deliver items to this mailbox

    • If something bad happens and a GM must restore your item, it'll also go to this mailbox.

    • You will not be able to send mail between players at this time.

  • All storage types - you cannot deposit or withdraw equipped items. It must be moved to regular inventory first. Then you can equip it. Or unequipped first - then to storage.
     


⚠ Known Issues / Temporary Limitations

Some features may not work as expected during this test phase:

  • Fireworks – Currently broken; fix coming by release.

  • Candles – Might not function properly.

  • Mage Poison Shield – Still being worked on.

The characters you’ll be using were copied from the live server on Monday, May 20th, so expect some progress to be a few days behind.
